Happy Thanksgiving!
We’ve had a great day! It started very early with Chris up at 5 a.m. to start cooking the turkey. Fortunately for us, but unfortunately for Chris, the turkey, which we thought would take over 4 hours to cook, took only about 2 hours, so it was done by the time Delaney got up for the day at 8 a.m. We spent the rest of the morning lazily getting ready and fixing the rest of our Thanksgiving fare.
Around 11 a.m., Aunt Katy and Grandmommy arrived for Thanksgiving lunch. We had our 13 lb turkey, butternut squash, asparagus, corn, sausage wild rice and corn bread. I forgot about the homemade cranberry-orange relish I made! Afterwards Delaney opened her first birthday gifts from Grandmommy. We enjoyed playing outside on this beautiful Thanksgiving day!
I was reminiscing earlier about a special Thanksgiving day 6 years ago. Chris proposed to me on the beach on a beautiful balmy Thanksgiving day back in 2001. We had been dating for about 8 months, and were married about 5 months later. Whew! The best decision I ever made!
