Holy. Crap. What a day! Part 2
Some moron

decided to

try to reverse

out of a drive-through line

without first checking his rear-view mirror!

He crunched up my bumper, my hood and totally cracked my headlight. I took out some of the pieces so that they wouldn’t be a hazard.

At least he left me one good headlight.

A good reason to be car-free (I wish I were as brave as you, Rebecca!), but I can’t figure out for the life of me how I’d get Colin down for a nap when nursing just doesn’t cut it!

YUCK! Dustin says, try a little duct tape!

Just stopping by to see what you did with yourself on ‘your night off’ and it looks like you reorged your blog!
Ever play six degrees of separation with blogs? In one click I can find someone I know, through some you know…

How darn annoying! DH is a magnet for those kinds of people. Hope he gave you accurate insurance info!

Sadly, that actually kept us from ditching the car for a long time, too. It wasn’t until last month that Malachy *finally* went down predictably without a car ride, thanks to a month of crazily religious naptime routines.
I think he’s at the magic age for it, though. It clicked one day when I put his bib on and he walked automatically over to the table. I realized it was a little “routine” to him, and decided to capitalize on it.
(Now, he automatically walks up to the stepping stool, hops in the bed, and lays down, after we brush his teeth. It really is no small miracle, considering the horrid sleep we had for 14 months! You remember me begging for advice (anything but CIO!) at 12 mos, right?)
Not that he goes to sleep right then, but we nurse, have a bottle, nurse, have a bottle, snuggle, etc., until he finally nods off. He used to just finish nursing, finish his bottle, then giggle and make a beeline for the edge of the bed, before slithering off and running away. LOL.

ugh. sorry about the moron.
and i hear ya about the car being my savior on days that a nap is a must-have and nursing my 1 yr old doesn’t do the trick. driving is pretty much the only way my 3 1/2 yr old will nap too.

Yeah - reorged by clicking “change appearance” and “choose this pic” and “choose this colors scheme” - and voila…new blog in 30 seconds LOL
Rebecca - I have to say, I’m a little jealous! Delaney didn’t “get it” until about 2.5, and it was around that time that she stopped nursing during the middle of the night. She can now lay down and go to sleep pretty well at 3 (but it still takes rocking and snuggling).

I’m crossing my fingers that Malachy doesn’t snap out of it in a month or two!
Although when he was younger, we “walked” him to sleep a lot, and yesterday he did fall asleep in his stroller when we were downtown. So maybe Future Kid #2 will learn to sleep that way. (I hope.)
