No, Daddy do my hair!
Daddy: Mommy will do your hair
Delaney: I want Daddy to do it!
Mommy: Daddy can’t. It’s Mommy’s turn.
Ok, so WHY can’t Chris do Delaney’s hair? Is it an ingrained-in-men thing? I received an email from my boss this morning (yes, I got a job; details are coming…eventually…) who indicated that she had gone ahead and fixed her daughter’s hair so her husband didn’t have to deal with it. So obviously she faces the same issues we do. I never know WHAT Delaney’s hair will look like on a morning that Chris gets her ready…clip, rubber band, the Albert Einstein look?
So the short of it…the man who can create this

and this

and build this hole in the wall for the tv

this storage building connected to the house

and this chicken coop

can’t put a simple hair clip in his baby girl’s hair.
I’m not asking him to do this

Just something like this

or

One simple clip or rubber band to keep her bangs out of her eyes.
Honey, I love you - you are so talented! You are wonderful. You are stupendous. Just keep practicing…

Ha! Great Post. You KNOW I can totally relate. I’m telling you, there is just something much too intimidating about a little girls hair. Men simply cannot handle it. Einstein’s daughter’s hair would have looked JUST LIKE HIS!
We are definitely the superior sex.

Mine won’t even try to dress our kids. I’m like, you can’t even grab a one-piece outfit for the baby?! Even if he just pairs it with plain white socks, I’d be thrilled. If it were left to him, they’d be in their jammies all day. There’s no way he’d tackle hair! Good thing we have boys.
This reminded me of the olden days, sitting around with my little niece on my lap, brushing and braiding her hair, with my BIL watchng, trying to figure out how to do it. At least he tried!
I’m not so sure how the top one is more complicated than the other two. The barrettes are harder, I think, for men. Give him a baby doll with yarn hair and a rubber band and make him practice, practic, practice!

The top one is TWO pony tails - so it is twice as hard! You have to part in the middle, gather up one side of crazy, wild curly hair, get it in place, then put a rubber band in. Repeat, but make sure that it’s even with the other…oh, and all this while she’s turning her head this way and that and helping with her comb. It’s multitasking at it’s finest

So, I have tried. The problem is not that I cannot do her hair. It’s that I can’t do her hair while she is moving her head non stop. Ladies, be aware that this does work both ways… When she can build all the things in the post then she has earned a right to complain me not being able to handle Delaney’s unruly, tangled, non-stop hair.

I am terrible at doing Amy’s hair. Luckily her hair looks like it is going to be pretty managable, but still.
A clip isn’t that hard. I need to invest in some clips me thinks.
