I sent them out with their dad…
…and they came back with their hands full.
Late last week I asked Chris to take the kids to the store with him. It was supposed to be a quick errand - just run to the home center to pick up a few essentials for finishing up an outdoor project. I stayed home and did some chores.
I expected them be home within an hour. It does take a little longer toting two kids along, but I certainly didn’t expect them to be gone THAT long. So I straightened up the whole house and changed the sheets on all the beds. Then I started to wonder what was taking them so long. Oh, well, I thought as I vacuumed the up and down stairs and checked my email.
Finally they get home as I’m putting the finishing touches on my completely straightened upstairs. “HI Mommy!” “Guess what Mommy? We got LIZARDS!”
Um…excuse me?? What?? LIZARDS??
So maybe next time the kids will stay home with me…

Look hard and you will see their lunch in both photos. Yes, we also have two dozen (well, maybe a dozen now) crickets, too.
PS: My children call them lizards, but they are really green anoles. They have been happily named “Bob” and “Wendy”…or sometimes “Muck” or “Dizzy” or “Scoop.” Guess what our favorite show is…

Ah, the circle of life…lizard hangs around in spiffy terrarium all day while humans bring it live crickets to slaughter…just like in nature!

What a pretty GREEN color!! I’d like to hear the story of how Chris was talked into lizards (or maybe Delaney and Colin were talked into lizards)

Oh my! Huey has asked for a variety of pets, but thankfully we have only one pet store in town, and it’s not in an area where he’s ever been, so he doesn’t even know it’s there!
