When it rains…

Here’s my “woe is me” blog for the day…

My grandmother passed away yesterday late in the night. She was 87 years old and lived a wonderful, action-packed adventure of a life. I’m feeling pretty OK right now, but the sorrow is still coming in waves.

Colin is sick. I put him to bed tonight with a fever of over 103. He’s miserable! I’m not sure what he has - some mysterious fever virus. Probably picked it up at the doctor’s office on Friday.

Tomorrow I have a job interview. This should be great news, but the job is in Chapel Hill, which is about a 45 minute drive. I’m not sure if I want to commit to driving that far unless I can’t find a job around here. But so far, this is the first interview I’ve gotten from my dozens of job applications.

So yeah. I’m feeling a little sorry for myself right now. Boo hoo.

Yep, pouring here too litterally and emotionally. So I understand, it’s one of those times you almost wish you were 20 years back and didn’t have to worry about any of these things. But then you look at the children, and find a way. WE WILL find a way somehow. My advice…take it or leave it…lol…don’t do the drive unless you have to. I am so relieved that I have finally gotten rid of that drive for the first time in 10 years! The only thing I miss is my talks with Piper.

Consider applying for CHIP/Medicaid for the kids:

Typically you only have to re-certify once a year, so it could buy you a year to figure out a better job situation with benefits.

For you and Chris, a very high deductible HSA type plan with Blue Cross should only cost about $160/month total, and while it won’t cover much, it will get you the “insured” rate for anything you have to pay for out of pocket, plus protect you from total financial loss in the event of a serious illness. Better than being completely uninsured, in any case.

Will keep you guys in our thoughts and prayers.

    (((hugs))) for you.

Poor Colin, I hope he gets better fast. It’s the worst thing when they are sick.

And insurance? I have no idea. Good luck.

    Big Hugs!!!
Try to get some kind of insurance so you don’t have to deal with any pre-existing b.s. if something comes up.

Sending good thoughts your way. Even if you decide not to take the job, I have found that having an interview is helpful for me. I interviewed for a job that was out of my driving range, but it was a good experience. Good luck, either way.

You are allowing yourself to feel and heal. This is a hard month for you and it will take some time to recover. Hugs mama!
